2014, A Year Filled with Personal Happiness

2014, A Year Filled with Personal Happiness

Well friends, I have been thinking a lot about this blogging thing lately. It seems like everyone is doing it, so who would really take time to read another one? I certainly don’t have time to waste reading about someone else’s life (although I really do enjoy it). But recently, my handsome fiance was transferred to an exotic land called Argentia, Newfoundland and I vowed to take this time for me. I have always worked around his schedule and my class time-table, that I finally decided that him moving would finally give me the opportunity to focus on my happiness. Don’t get me wrong, being with him bring me more happiness than I could have ever imagined, but I needed to find happiness on my own. Which is why I went on a journey over the past few months, that led me here – a blog. I am writing this blog to share my experiences, and follow on my path to self-happiness.

This blog is going to be my safe place, filled with what current goals are, to the delicious food I am eating and the new (and old) activities I am enjoying. This blog is honestly for me, and for the first time in my life I do not feel guilty for that.

Maybe one of my reasons that is pushing me to do this is the book I am reading. It is called The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin. It is basically a biography of her happiness project. She took a full year to boost her happiness and divided it up into monthly goals. It is encouraging to see how the little things, like writing a blog or dancing in the morning can make a huge difference in how you look at your day.

So for these next few months that Glen (my fiance) is away, I will be following a journey of contributing to my happiness. I expect this journey to not always be easy and probably quite tiresome but with a wedding fast approaching and my number of days on this planet are disappearing, I am going to take full advantage of the life I have been given and live each day with happiness, adventure and fun.

So, buckle up. Let’s start this roller coaster ride to happiness.
